There was a number of events happening. First there was 25m Freestyle then there was 25m Backstroke then 25m breaststroke, 25m dolphin dive the last one was doggy paddle. In every race I had got last. I guess im bad at swimming never mind at least I had a fun day and we won the class relay!!!!
Over all we had a great day and had heaps of fun.

Yangtze Dolphin Extinction

This video is my simile poem. In room 42 we have been learning what is a simile, a simile is A simile is a sentence that uses words ‘like’ or ‘as’
e.g. He ran like the wind or As blind as a bat.
The purpose of a simile is to make our writing more interesting and to create a picture in the readers mind and to emphasize the quality we are talking about. My  video is a simile poem about the Yangtze River Dolphin Extinction.

Personification

In our class we have just started a unit on personification. This is my practice sentences I created into a poem.

The rains fingers are touching my face
Anger is making very bad face
The house is rolling away under my feet
On it’s tiptoes, or on its feet

Water Vapor Rap

I have learnt that I know how to rap and that the water cycle is included in the process of a leaky tent. The other thing I have learnt is that working with a partner isn't to bad. The benefit of working with a partner is that if you are stuck they will come and help you solve the problem. They also help you even if they have no idea. The difficulty I overcame was that I was going to do an imovie but i wasn't sure till I found you you could do a rap.

Last year I joined the tauranga city library. It is a great opportunity to research and refresh your mind. The library is a nice quiet space that you can read any type of book, Fiction, non fiction any book really. I will blog more about my visits regally its usually every two weeks I go there and get a new book I will hopefully go there this weekend.

Stay tuned

Homework Task 2

Excellents in the arts

Task: Join the production.choir, a band or Kapa Haka participating in all rehearsals and performances for the year.

I have joined choir I have done it for four years now. I try very hard to achieve goal in choir. I have gone to every audition for solo and only got one but I still strive to achieve. This year the choral festival theme is summer. The choral festival is when all the choirs from the schools in bay of plenty are joined together to create one big vocal orchestra. With a few solos here and there its a huge success and I cant wait for more sining opportunities.

Homework Task One

Excellence in the arts.

Homework task: Learn an instrument or craft join a dance school/ team during the year.

This year I am learning the instrument keyboard. I have been doing keyboard for a number of years now. I am on book two out of like six. Last year I started the series of this keyboard book and yet i have four more to go once I have completed this one.

I can read notes, correctly position my fingers and play many tunes. Keyboard is similar to piano. But it is not as big and it has a higher voice. Thats the instrument I will be learning for the rest of the year and more.
