People abandon flaming car

Three people on Saturday night 100m from the Bay-park Speedway abandoned a car on the side of the road at  about 11pm that night. Flames started flying from the dashboard. Lindsay said that the occupants of the car could smell smoke before they could see any of the flames. " Cars can develop flames quickly. The fire is believed to be caused by an electrical fault.

My Opinion: I am wondering if they are the people who called the fire brigade and how did this happen as supposed to an electrical fault.
